Comfort Food at Gillham's Coffee Shop & Deli

Our usual happy Saturday ambling around Oswestry kaiboshed by the miserable weather - curtains of rain on gusty winds - we took comfort where we could find it - and today that was in Gillham's revamped Coffee Shop and Deli.

The enlarged coffee shop now has an extra 20 seats and although the deli area has been shortened to make way, the large dividing glass window makes both the coffee shop and the deli seem brighter with a feeling of more space.

The Coffee Shop, even with its new seating capacity was packed with folk tucking into warming lunches, efficiently served up by the team of busy waitresses.

Suitably soothed by a milky latte and a chocolate rich tiffin, I wandered into the Deli and, after a happy time eyeballing the goodies,  bought a couple of the highly praised Coopers Gourmet Sausage Rolls for tea, with black pudding and apple for me and caramelised onion and Shropshire Blue for John, before returning to battle through the elements.

Safely back at home, writing up the blog, and I have just scarffed the last bit of my sausage roll - and jolly gourmet it was too.
