The Border Visual Arts Festival 2014 is flinging open the world of contemporary art  in the coming weeks as it  bares its artistic talents to Oswestry .

This weekend sees the start of the festival,   an exhibition at the Willow Gallery – with a preview evening on Friday 30th May.  The exhibition will be open throughout the month of June.

Between the 2nd of June and the 22nd June, The Willow Gallery and participating Open Studio artists will also be playing host to a phenomenal amount of free workshops and drop ins – from working with textiles –felting, machine embroidery art and collage, wax modelling, wood carving and CAD modelling and 3d sculpture.  Places are bound to be limited, but do contact the Willow Gallery for more details.

Sat 14th & Sun 15th June and  Sat 21st & Sun 22nd June are Open Studio weekends  with 28 artists displaying works in 15 studios in and around Oswestry.

Local businesses around the town will host window displays of sculpture, paintings and textile arts.

This is a wonderful opportunity to not only see artists at work, but take part in their workshops, talk to them about their life and work and get to buy unique, wonderful contemporary artwork.
