Puppet making on plinth in Trafalgar Square

OK, so our knitting wool shop owner knits on Machu Pichu, our hairdressers have clients who come all the way from Edinburgh to Norwich to get their hair cut, our deep tissue massage client is said to be "the best in the world".... so what else do our Norwich clients do to get publicity?

They stand on a plinth in Trafalgar Square at 2am in the morning making a puppet!

Ian Woods, the general manager of the Norwich Puppet Theatre, has had his name drawn to be a plinthian on Tuesday 28th July - get this - at 2am!

Ian, who will be on holiday in Jersey, decided that as he was lucky enough to be selected out of 27,000 people, he had better take the opportunity and fly back from Jersey.

Ian plans to publicise the Norwich Puppet Theatre Adopt-a-Puppet scheme by making a puppet during his hour's stint on the plinth and then auctioning it on his return.
