Vicky Merrison, marketing manager of Castle Mall said, "We really wanted to bring an outdoor ice skating experience back to Norwich city centre and have been busy trying to make it happen for a while. It's the perfect setting too, in Castle Mall gardens, nestled between the Castle and the shopping centre. People will be able to pop directly into the food court for some après-skate hot food and drink! We can't wait to see the rink start to take shape."
Matt Howes at Baseline Promotions, the company which will be operating the ice rink, said, "It’s great to be back with a rink in our home city again. The ice rink always seems to be the centrepiece of Christmas in Norwich."
The Castle Mall ice skating rink is 300 square metres in size and can hold 100 skaters per session.
Prices are as follows: adults £8.00 children (up to 16 years) £6.00. A family ticket (two adults, two children) is also available at £25.00. All prices include skate hire.
