This year sees Rolf’s 65th year in art, and this important exhibition celebrates the life and work of one of the nation’s most popular and well known artists.

In addition to concentrating on this collection and fulfilling numerous entertainment engagements, Rolf has spent the last few months working on a major art book , also entitled ‘A Life in Art’. This much-anticipated retrospective and personal memoir has also been produced as an exclusive collector’s box set, the book is encased in beautiful presentation box and is accompanied by two Limited Editions signed and numbered by the man himself.
Acknowledged as a genuine modern master and the country’s best–loved artist, Rolf has been awarded the CBE and has won many accolades both for his artwork and for his contribution to the entertainment industry. His versatile talents have won him immense popularity on gallery walls and Glastonbury stages. Always a huge favourite on television,  his famous BBC1 TV series ‘Rolf on Art’ gained the highest ever viewing figures for a programme on the visual arts, topping all previous programmes by over six million viewers.

In 1992 Rolf was named the world's most famous artist in a massive poll conducted by the London artMart. Last year his enduring popularity was underlined by a survey called ‘What the British really think about art today’ published in the Daily Telegraph in which he featured ahead of Damian Hirst.

The two pictures here are Fire Escape and Mist on The Thames.

Mist on The Thames is a view from Rolf's garden. He said, 'the sun was rising just out of the picture, on the top right. I liked the effect of the brilliant reflections of the sun on the water and the way these work with the ducks and the misty fog.'

Fire Escape was inspired  was Rolf imagining that the jungle was on fire behind the animal and it was escaping by swimming, and the fearful look in the eyes reflected that thought. All the orange painted reflections added to the colour of the water, cement the image in Rolf's mind.

Everyone is invited to join Trent Galleries over the summer for an exclusive opportunity to invest in a piece of artwork from this landmark collection.
