We popped in for lunch yesterday and had a great meal. The place is welcoming and the food delicious. The service was spot on and friendly staff. Can recommend the sausage cob and chips, nachos (the portion size was huge) and sausage and mash. We sat outside under the canopy which was really pleasant. A great place for lunch after a walk around fox ton locks.

This is a great looking pub in a great location and superb garden area to lounge away those sunny summer evenings, and only a very short stroll from the canal. I thought the food menu was quite extensive with some traditional pub fayre along with some great home made classics such as Steak and Ale pie - and what a pie it was - award winning in my opinion! Good selection of ales and the service was first class. The staff were attentive and the facilities were first rate with a great covered patio area... Don't hesitate in visiting this pub if you are in the area, you won' be disappointed....

The pub looks attractive, has a good location and a nice garden and outside seating area by the canal. The food menu is quite limited but offers a reasonable choice of typical pub food. The food served is, however, just OK. The pub was not particularly busy but the staff did not seem very attentive as they seemed pre-occupied with other things. I’m not sure if this is meant to be a dining pub or a locals pub. One of the locals came in, ordered a pint which lasted him a few hours and then demanded that the music was turned off so he could watch the football. I usually avoid pubs that advertise sky sport etc as I’m not interested in watching tv or sport when I’m out for a meal. There weren’t many others eating when we visited mid week. This place will need to up its game if we’re going to visit again.

Meet up with some old friends what a great location with lovely views good selection of ales my friends had the beer battered cod and chips it was like moby dick whooping size of fish, I had the ribs with home made BBQ sauce it was like half a dinosaur on the plate amazing the waiting staff were very attentive all in all very good night will definitely be back again.

5pm on a Tuesday evening. Sat outside under the canopy. Lovely outlook and nice clean tables. Service was brilliant by each of the staff who served us. Food was plentiful. The Eton Mess was to die for honestly 👌. Huge portions of starters and dessert. A really lovely environment to eat in.

Pre booked an outside table - on arrival wasn’t booked as outside but they found one for us. Initially great service and food was lovely. After main course was delivered we were not offered drink replenishments. We asked for pudding menu. This was left on table. 15 minutes later nobody had come back to take our order despite waiting on other tables nearby. What made it worse was that a lady, who we believe to be the manager, was busy chatting to two customers who she clearly knew and totally ignoring the needs of others. After 30 minutes we got up and went into the bar to pay the bill. Such a shame to end our nice day on this note.

Staying locally we decided to book for Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed, apart from a slow start (another sign of a good place is how it’s dealt with 👍) the Sunday lunches were delicious, quality produce and cooked to perfection. Puddings were lovely too!

This venue was perfect place for holding a family event. The view is lovely with capacity for outside or inside. The food was all home baking and very delicious. They were very helpful and able to tailor the food to suit our taste and needs. Very good price too.

Nice staff, excellent food, very much enjoyed our visit! In fact it was so good, we are looking forward to coming back when restrictions are eased - when we should be able to sit inside! Really convenient for boaters.
