If you are fit and able you can easily park on the long stay car parks on the outskirts of Lichfield and easily access all the City has to offer.

If you are approaching from the A461 Walsall Road (from Brownhills, Burntwood or Cannock)or the A51 from (Stafford, Rugeley or Longdon), you will find The Friary Long Stay (WS13 6QE) multi storey car park on the left hand side, a short distance from The Bowling Green roundabout. The closest short stay car parks from here are Friary Inner (WS13 6QA no free disabled parking), Sandford Street (WS13 6TU) plus the very popular Bird Street (WS13 6AE).

All of these will give you easy access to shops at the top of Market Street including The Kitchen Shop , David Arthur Opticians and Spires Dental Clinic in Sandford Street and Beacon Park.

Beacon Park has it's own, limited short stay car parking facilities in Bunkers Hill, Shaw Lane and Greenhough Road. From Bird St car park you can easily access Lichfield Cathedral, Erasmus Darwin Museum, Samuel Johnson Birthplace, Market Square (Visitors Centre), Dam Street and the lower end of Market St.

If you are approaching from the A51 Upper St John St/London Road Tamworth or Swinfen there are several options for short stay car parks. There is a multi storey on Birmingham Road (WS13 6HP) with easy access to Debenhams, Three Spires Shopping Centre, Lichfield Garrick Theatre and the centre of the City.

Or continue up Birmingham Road to the traffic lights then turn left if you turn immediate left at the next set of traffic lights there are several long stay and short stay car parks in this area (WS13 6JE). Or turn left at the first set of lights then turn right at second set, down to the mini roundabout turn left follow the road around to the Lombard short stay car parks (WS13 6DW).

If you carry on past the entrance to the lower level there is a very handy private car park at the back of Richard Winterton Auctioneers just £3 all day until 6pm!

Easy access for Tamworth St, lots of independent retailers here, including The Spark Cafe Mooch Kids, Stardust Costumes, Dolly & Joe's, Hindleys Bakery & Cafe and ES Jewellery .

Using a cut through at the back of Lloyds Bank you can also access Market Square, Dam Street, Market Street, Conduit Street.

If you are approaching from the A38 north you will head straight up the Birmingham Road where you will see Tesco Extra Store on your right (Free parking for 3 hours, camera controlled) or if you prefer turn right at the next set of traffic lights then see the instructions above.
