Whats to Expect from Lichfield Jazz this Year

Many jazz musicians visited George IV in Lichfield in 2016 and blew audiences away with their incredible talent.

Fortunately for us, we're being treated to some more jazz throughout the year. Here's whats to expect...

On Wednesday 18th January George IV welcomes Jeremy Price’s Double Brass Quartet. Trombonist Jeremy Price is Head of Jazz at Birmingham Conservatoire.

Performing alongside him will be Nick Dewhurst on trumpet, playing music from classic trombone/trumpet groups along the lines of J J Johnson and Clifford Brown.

Nick Dewhurst then returns to the stage on Wednesday 15th February with his band.

Playing a wide selection of funky grooves, shuffles, bluesy melodies, cool latin tunes, ballads, fusion rock, original compositions, jazz standards, and contemporary music!

Lichfeldian Jazzer Nick Brown and his Quartet promise to bring a night of jazz for all to enjoy on Wednesday 15th March.

Tenor Saxophonist Nick Brown will bring his final year band along to the George IV to present a highly exciting programme of original music and a jazz standards!

Not forgetting the Lichfield Blues and Jazz Festival later in the year from June 2nd - 4th, where many jazz and blues musicians will take to the stage.
