This weekend (15th and 16th August 2015) offers so many activities that we thought we would share some with you.
 

Tower Tours

Where: Lichfield Cathedral
When: 15th and 16th August

Take in the breath-taking views of Lichfield and beyond on these extended Tower Tours.
 

A Splash of Inspiration: Birthplace artists on display

Where: Samuel Johnson Museum
When: 15th and 16th August

Encounter striking paintings and unexpected techniques by Art Workshop students displayed around the historic building. FREE.

 

Footy For A Fiver

Where: Burntwood Leisure Centre
When: 15th and 16th August

Children can play football on our synthetic pitch at the reduced price of £5.  Offer applies before 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.  Booking can be made in advance or on the day.

 

Lichfield Fake Festival

Where: Beacon Park
When: Saturday 15th August, 12:00pm until 11:00pm

Enjoy performances from Bon Jovi, Kasabian and Jamiroquai tributes - all playing inside the Fake Festival's  marquee - enjoy some of the finest local quality food and entertainment at the Fake Festival. Tickets available online and from Lichfield Tourist Information on 01543 256611
 

Open Weekend at G-Scapes

Where: G-Scapes, Fullbrook Nursery
When: Saturday 15th August, 9:00am until 5:00pm 

The wholesale nursery will be open to the public this weekend.  It's your opportunity to buy plants at competitive prices, find something unusual and chat to the experts on site. They will be selling a wide range of home-grown plants including trees, shrubs and specimen plants. They have an enviable range of herbaceous perennials with over 300 varieties guaranteed to give your garden all-round-colour and interest.
 

Children's Wildlife Watch Group

Where: National Memorial Arboretum
When: Saturday 15th August, 2:00pm until 4:00pm

Butterflies galore with Richard Thorpe, Arboretum's Volunteer Wildlife Officer. Always great fun and lots to discover!  Admission: £1.00 per child. Places are limited so booking is essential and priority will be given to existing members. Appropriate clothing and footwear required for outdoor activities.


PYO Soft Fruits

Let the kids have fun picking their own strawberries for tea! At Manor Farm Fruits weather permitting of course.


70th Anniversary of VJ Day Commemoration Service

Where: National Memorial Arboretum
When: Sunday 16th August, 12:00pm until 2:00pm

A service will be held at the Far East Prisoner of War Memorial Building to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of VJ Day.  The building, which is now ten years old, will also be rededicated. A wreath laying and blessing at the Far East Prisoners of War Grove will follow. - Members of the public are invited to attend the service. Only COFEPOW members may attend the elements of the service to be held in the marquee.
