Before Action - WW1 commemoration - Featuring exclusive recordings by Oscar winning actor Eddie Redmayne, ‘Before Action’ is a unique and one off Art installation throughout the inside of Lichfield Cathedral. Running from August 4th – 6th, this a unique experience not to be missed.

Friday 5th August:

Finding Dory Family Swim Sessions – Running throughout the summer, these fun swimming sessions at Friary Grange Leisure Centre are the perfect way to get your kids active, more confident in the water and have lots of fun doing it too!

The Hired Man – The Lichfield Garrick's first community musical The Hired Man ends it’s run this weekend, so if you haven’t yet had the chance to catch it, now is the time to get your tickets and see the show.

Saturday 6th August:

Plant Hunters' Fair - Explore the beautiful landscape of the  National Memorial Arboretum while you receive specialist advice as well as purchase plants for your own garden. A must visit event for any lover of gardening.

Twilight Maize Maze - Supporting St. Giles Hospice - Take on the challenge of navigating around the maze of the National Forest Adventure Farm for the Twilight Dinosaurs Awaken Maize Maze charity event to raise money for St Giles Hospice.

WW1 Edwardian Weekend at the Staffordshire Regiment Museum – Learn all about life for our great-great-grandparents at the WW1 Edwardian Weekend, which will be a relaxing, family friendly and fascinating day out for the whole family.

Guided Tours of The Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum – Explore the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum in these entertaining tours where you can learn all about the man himself as well as his life in Lichfield.

Sunday 7th August:

Teddy Bears' Picnic in Beacon Park – Beacon Park are playing host for the teddy bears’ picnic, where you can bring your teddy along as well as enjoy the various activities going on in the park. There will also be a prize for the best dressed teddy!

Battle of the Somme Guided Walk - Visit the National Memorial Arboretum for these fascinating and educational tours. Join one of the expert guides on a tour around the grounds to discover just some of the memorials which have links to the Battle of the Somme.

Tennis for Free – These free weekly sessions allow anyone to take up some tennis lessons – for free! Come down to Beacon Park’s tennis courts, pick up a racket and give it a go!

Adult Swimming Lessons at Friary Grange Leisure Centre - On every Sunday during the six weeks, this is an opportunity for adults who may not be confident swimmers to gain confidence while in the water.

Art Club for children – Perfect for children aged 5 – 11, these arts and crafts sessions are a perfect way for children to make new friends and they create wonderful things using different art mediums.

Foxy Fun at Lichfield Library - Lichfield Library will be having Fantastic Mr. Fox themed arts & crafts sessions for children and families.

Beacon Park Fun Day – Fancy a fun day out? Then come down to Beacon Park’s Fun Day, where there will be plenty of games, rides, inflatables and stalls to enjoy, as well as the ‘Teddy Bear Games.’
