Here is a round of the special remembrance events happening in Lichfield to remember the fallen: 

The National Arboretum

Remembrance Day falls on Tuesday November 11th this year but at The National Arboretum in Lichfield, every day is Remembrance Day.

A National Memorial to those who have lost their lives serving our country, The National Arboretum is the place where the nation remembers.


On Sunday 9th November 2014, a service will be held for Remembrance Sunday at the National Memorial Arboretum. The service will take place on the Royal Naval Review.

Service Timings are as follows: 

10.15am: Visitors are requested to assemble at the Royal Naval Review 

10.30am:Musical welcome from the West Midlands Police Brass Band, with the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Warwickshire Band  

10.40am:Words of Welcome  

10.45am:Parade of Standards  

11.15am: Service Concludes  

11.20am: Pilgrimage to the AFM and Wreath laying

12.00pm: Parade and March Past  

1.30pm:  Prayers and Thoughts for Remembrance Sunday 

1.35pm: Band Concert – West Midlands Police Brass Band, with the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Warwickshire Band.  

2.15pm: Sunset Ceremony 


On Tuesday 11 November, an outdoor service will be held at the National Memorial Arboretum to commemorate Armistice Day.  The grounds will be open to the general public throughout the day from 9am until dusk. The Armed Forces Memorial will be closed to non ticket holders and the general public from 9am to 12noon.
 


Lichfield City

On Sunday 9th November, a Remembrance Day Parade will take place through Lichfield between 10:30am and 11:30am.


Lichfield Cathedral

Lichfield Cathedral will be remembering those who sacrificed their lives in conflict and praying for the peace of the world today at the following services:

Remembrance Sunday 9 November

10.00 – Liturgy of Remembrance

10.50 – Remembrance & Liturgy of the Sacrament with an Act of Remembrance at 11.00


Remembrance Day, Tuesday 11 November

10.30 – Lichfield Cathedral School Remembrance Service, which will include 2 minutes of silence.
