The Return of The Big Lunch at Lichfield Cathedral
1st June 2015

The Big Lunch, the UK’s annual get-together for the community, is returning to Lichfield Cathedral on Sunday 7 June and people from across Lichfield and the surrounding areas are being invited to attend the giant picnic on the Cathedral lawns, and get to know their neighbours better.

Weather permitting, the event will run from 12pm to 3pm and is open to anyone from the local area.

The Cathedral Young Voices will be performing, as well as the very popular Lichfield Lighthouse Company, and Chapters, the Café in The Close, will be selling a wide variety of food and drink.

Where Does the Big Lunch Originate?

The Big Lunch is an idea from the Eden Project, made possible by the Big Lottery Fund and supported by Halifax and Asda. It is the perfect recipe for having run with neighbours, feeding community spirit, and helping to build stronger neighbourhoods.

Last year, 4.83million people took part in The Big Lunch across the UK.
