The Gaza Children’s Voices Exhibition at Lichfield Cathedral.
4th January 2013

Created with the support of a Christian Aid partner, the Culture and Free Thought Association (CFTA) in Gaza, this display presents a moving series of photographs and reports taken and made by young people as they investigated and documented the situation taking place in their own country. Set in the context of conflict and blockade, these moving images and words highlight the issues of child labour and children working in dangerous situations.

CFTA has helped these children to take action to raise public awareness, and strive to influence decision makers, bringing about a change in their own community. Alongside the exhibition, visitors can record a response as a prayer or comment, the booklet ‘Breaking down Barriers: Working for Peace in the Holyland’ will also be available, suggesting ways that churches and individuals can respond and get involved.

On Sunday, 20 January (Unity Sunday) at 10.30am, the Rev. Warren Bardsley will be the preacher. He has worked with the World Council of Churches as a human rights observer in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
