We can all take simple steps to help the environment that are easy to do and don’t cost money:

Avoid plastic bags – why not carry a re-useable eco carrier bag around in your handbag.

Energy saving light bulbs – whilst they are not cheap to buy, over their lifetime you will have helped save the environment.  Turn off any lights that are not needed.

Recycle – make sure your whole family recycles everything possible.  Don’t throw away old toys, books, clothes etc.. give them to Charity.

Turn down your thermostat – even turning it down by one degree will help save the environment – and you won’t even notice the difference.

Walk – don’t drive! Walking will give you exercise and fresh air at the same time.

Turn off your mobile phone charger at the wall – leaving your charger plugged in uses energy and costs you money.

Shut down your computer – don’t leave it on all day.

Don’t boil a full kettle – only boil the water you need.

Buy Local – support your local shops – this cuts down on your travel costs to out of town stores.

Save Water – take showers instead of baths, turn the tap off when cleaning your teeth, buy a water butt!

Follow these great tips and become more environmentally aware.
