The Lichfield Garrick theatre will open the national tour of Oddsocks Theatre Company’s production of Romeo & Juliet next week.

The show aims to make one of William Shakespeare’s greatest tragedies more accessible to a family audience by giving it a Mods and Rockers musical twist.

Derby based Oddsocks is a critically acclaimed national touring theatre company which takes classic texts and create bold, challenging, innovative and interactive theatre to be enjoyed by everyone.

With classic songs by artists including The Jam, The Specials and Madness, there’s Nowhere to Run To for the Capulets and the Montagues as violent confrontation stalks every meeting, even Down at the Tube Station at Midnight. Will Romeo find his Juliet in the Nite Klub and maybe, just maybe, The Power of Love will end the families feud.

Romeo and Juliet runs at the Lichfield Garrick on Wednesday 17 & Thursday 18 May at 7.30pm. Tickets are £19.50, £14.50 (students) and £10 (schools). For more information call the box office on 01543 412121.
