Lyn Hammant, Lichfield District Council’s Historic Parks Manager, said: “We want to hear from you if you have a burning question about our parks or have an idea for an event or activity or an improvement. The sessions are also a chance to find out more about volunteering within our parks. “We hope lots of people come along and meet with us as we think it will be a great way to improve our parks for the people who use them.” Anyone who wants to share their thoughts with the council’s parks team can stop by Chandlers Lakeside Bistro on Tuesdays, between 9.30am and 10.30am, on 2 and 16 October, 6 and 20 November, 4 and 18 December. Also launching on Tuesday 2 October 2012 is Beacon Park’s Neaten and Natter volunteering sessions. Taking place on the first Tuesday of every month, from 11am to 1pm and 1.30pm to 3pm, the sessions will be a chance for anyone who loves Beacon Park to volunteer to do handy jobs around the park. Ruth Witczak, Lichfield District Council’s Community and Education Officer, said: “We know lots of our regular park users are keen to volunteer at Beacon Park. This is why we are inviting people to come along on the first Tuesday of every month to take part in tasks such as helping to keep the park tidy, weeding paths, helping to run park events, and some administration tasks. We’ll provide all the equipment and volunteers can choose the jobs that are right for them.” The Neaten and Natter days will be running this year from 11am to 1pm and 1.30pm to 3pm on Tuesday 2 October, Tuesday 6 November and Tuesday 4 December. To find out more about the Community Drop-ins, or to register your interest in volunteering at the Neaten and Natter sessions, please call Lichfield District Council’s parks team on 01543 308869 or email parks@lichfielddc.gov.uk
