Have you ever hankered after an autumn day in Bavaria where you can swing along to the melodies of the oompah band while enjoying the very best of food and beer? Well, now you can and without having to leave the boundaries of the City because Lichfield Arts are to introduce a taste of German culture with their first ever Oktoberfest in Lichfield Guildhall on Friday 30 September and Saturday 1 October.

This really is a beer festival with a difference with a wide range of German beers and wines as well as many of our more traditional British real ales.  There will also be a wide range of foods on sale including such German specialities as pretzels and bratwurst as well as high quality British favourites.

If that isn’t enough there will be live music each evening and especially with the Bavarian Strollers bringing the sounds of the bierkellar to Saturday night.

Lichfield Arts Director Chris Newcombe said, “This is going to be a great start to our season and we hope it will be such a success that it will become a regular feature of the Lichfield Arts calendar”.

The festival will last between Noon and 11pm each day.  Tickets are priced at £2.00 all day Friday and £2.00 on Saturday until 5.30pm and £3.00 thereafter.  All tickets are available from Lichfield Arts, Donegal House, Bore Street, 01543 262223 or online at www.lichfieldarts.org.uk
