December events & activities at the National Memorial Arboretum

Unless otherwise stated, contact the Arboretum for more information or to book places.  Event details are subject to change so please check before travelling. 

Thursday 1 December to Saturday 31 March – Car Park

All day parking just £1.50 (exclusions apply).  Note that on busy days, overflow parking will be available in Croxall Road (opposite the quarry entrance).

Sunday 4 to Saturday 24 – Freshly cut Christmas trees for sale

Prices vary £20 to £60.00.

Information:  Special Offer!  Buy a Christmas tree and claim a free hot drink and mince pie (on display of receipt at Arbour Restaurant).

Sunday 4 December to Friday 6 January – Snowflake Appeal

9am to 4.30pm.  Long Gallery.  Participation by donation.

Information:  Messages of love to someone special will be displayed on our extra special Christmas tree.

Mondays - Walking for Health at the Arboretum

2.30pm.  Onsite - report to Reception a few minutes before to check muster point.  Free.

Throughout December - Exhibition ‘War Memorial’ by Richard Walker

9am to 4.30pm.  Millennium Chapel.  Free, donations welcome.

Information:  Access to view may occasionally be restricted due to other activities in the Chapel.

Sunday 4th – Launch the Christmas Festivities!

From 2pm.  Free, donations and support of activities appreciated.

Information:  Music, stalls, things to do for all ages.

Friday 9th – Christmas Lunch with 1940’s Entertainment from Lola Lamour

11.45am for lunch at 12noon.  Rose Room.  £20.00 per person.  Booking essential.

Saturday 10th - HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Repulse - 70th anniversary service of remembrance

11.30. Millennium Chapel and onsite.

Friday 16th – Carol Concert with Burton Salvation Army Band

6.30pm. Onsite.  Small charge for song sheet and donations welcome.

Saturday 17th – Wildlife Watch Group – Christmas Party

2.00pm to 4.00pm.  Onsite.  £1.00 per child.  Check for availability.

Sunday 18th –   Christmas Table Top Sale

11.30am to 3.30pm.  Free, but donations welcome.

Monday 19th – Arboretum Story Circle – Christmas Special

12noon.  Millennium Chapel or onsite weather permitting.  Free.

Wednesday 21st - Christmas Lunch with 1940’s Entertainment from Lola Lamour

Saturday 24th -  ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ children’s storytelling with breakfast or lunch

9.30am -11.30am, or 12.30pm to 2.30pm.  Rose Room.  £9.00 per child.

Information:  Children to be accompanied by an adult, who has free admission.  Booking essential.

Sunday 25th – Arboretum will be closed on Christmas Day only.
