Event awards success of local businesses

A number of local businesses will be recognised at an awards ceremony in Lichfield this weekend.

Local networking group, Business First, is holding its first ever awards reception at Swinfen Hall Hotel on Saturday 14th January 2012.

Over 75 people, including members, business owners and guests will attend the glittering black tie event, and enjoy a bucks fizz reception and four course meal in the oak-panelled Edwardian ballroom of the restored Georgian mansion.

Businesses have been nominated by members for various award categories, and the shortlisted finalists and winners will be announced on the evening. A charity raffle will also be held at the reception, to raise money for the ‘We Love Lichfield’ fund.

Tracy Pound, current Chair of Business First says, “The Awards applaud the efforts of local companies who are working hard to grow their own businesses whilst also helping other organisations by providing referrals and support.  It’s a way of recognising the positivity of Lichfield’s business community, which is especially important in these tough economic times.”

The launch of the Business First Awards follows another successful year for the networking group, which has passed over £419,000 of business in the last 10 months between its members.

Established in 2004, Business First is an independent, non-profit making networking group that meets in Lichfield on a weekly basis to exchange information and promote business referrals for members.
