Lichfield - Staffordshire City of Festivals

Did you know that Lichfield is the Staffordshire City of Festivals? And here's an entirely new one:

The ever resourceful Lichfield Arts are putting on the Lichfield Roots and Folk Festival which starts this Friday at the Guild Hall with local singer/songwriter Emma Rushton.

There's a great line up over the weekend so I think it's well worth dropping in to. It kicks off another Autumn of great entertainment brought to us courtesy of Lichfield Arts, who are passionate about keeping live music in Lichfield.

I've also caught wind of another Festival which is in it's 3rd year this Autumn: Lichfield Literature from the Lichfield Festival from 8th to 11th October. It's a timely celebration of the written and spoken word (wot, wiv it being Sam Johnson's big 300 and all that). Some interesting talks, recitals and even a puppet show  of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

If there's anything coming up that you're involved in don't forget to drop me a line and make sure it gets covered in our Events section which is getting ever increasing numbers of page views.
