Members of the Round Table from Lichfield supported by adjacent tables organised a day of training with Operational Support Unit officers who specialise in policing public order situations, dynamic entry into buildings and specialist operations.

The day of activities included fitness training with a 'shield run', crowd control scenarios and street rioting with the members acting as both a 'passive' and 'hostile' crowd.

Tablers also undertook a tactical demonstration to restrain armed and emotionally disturbed people, how to break through doors and how new technology is increasing safety for officers and the public in confrontational situations.

All the money raised from the day will donated to the UK COPS charity who provide help and support to the families of police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Chairman of Lichfield Round Table, Adrian Steele commented "this event always has a good turnout and we’ve managed to raise a substantial amount of money for a really important charity.

Richard Kotulecki, Chief Executive of COPS commented “We are very grateful to Lichfield Round Table for making this donation which will go towards helping us to rebuild families shattered lives
