Following on from the success of 2016 Community Musical The Hired Man Lichfield Garrick Theatre is delighted to announce that Artistic Director Tim Ford is searching for talented performers from across Lichfield and Staffordshire to join us for the Garrick's 2017 Community Musical production.

This annual platform aims to offer aspiring performers and musicians from across the region the opportunity to perform at the Garrick Theatre and work alongside a team of professional artists. The production will run at The Garrick Theatre from July - August

The Garrick is looking for a company of strong actors, singers, dancer and musicians for this dynamic production. Stage experience is not necessary, nor is experience of performing in a musical.

Anyone from the age of 8-80 can audition and actors of all backgrounds, ethnicity and gender are welcome but we are really keen to hear from boys aged 12 - 18yrs with strong singing backgrounds and young men aged 18 - 25yrs for this production.

Auditions will take place between April 5th - 8th 2017 at The Garrick Theatre, participants will not be asked to prepare anything as all the material will be taught on the day.

To apply, download an application form from www.lichfieldgarrick.com and send completed form to Lichfield Garrick, Castle Dyke, Lichfield, WS13 6HR or email tim.ford@lichfieldgarrick.com, by 29th March 2017.

They are also looking for local people to be a part of our back stage, marketing and creative teams for this production so if you are a budding stage manager, costume maker, set builder, lighting or sound technician, marketing guru or if you fancy yourself as a director, choreographer or voice coach then they are also keen to hear from you.

About The Dreaming:

The Dreaming is a musical version of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Howard Goodall, the composer of such well-known theme tunes as The Vicar of Dibley and Blackadder, teamed up with lyricist Charles Hart (The Phantom of the Opera) to create this fabulous show for the National Youth Music Theatre.

The show has a distinctly spooky edge, mixed with superb comedy and of course as you would expect form Howard Goodall some glorious tunes.

The Dream will run at the Lichfield Garrick from Monday 31st July to Saturday 5th August 2017
