Lichfield Choral Course for Young Singers
20th July 2016

Experienced teachers from Lichfield Cathedral and the Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Music Education Hub will be heading up the course, which is open to young singers aged between 12 and 18 years.

The course provides an opportunity to learn to sing and take care of your voice, take part in performance workshops, and perform as part of a group. Each student will receive a 30 minute individual singing lesson, and have the chance to sing in an end-of-course showcase.

Singing in groups has been found to boost confidence, develop team-working skills, and provide a sense of achievement all of which are clear benefits to school life and beyond.

Cathy Lamb, Director of Music for Lichfield Cathedral, says: “Each year that we run this course it gets bigger and better! It’s a great opportunity for young singers to develop their skills and meet new like-minded people.

This year’s Choral Course will take place on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th August from 10am to 3pm.

The course costs £30 per child and registration is required.
