As well as promoting the event on air, Kerrang has hand picked a selection of Midlands bands to play on the day and into the evening.
Raffle prizes have been donated that include not only free tickets and back stage passes to Kerrang Live but a fantastic selection of signed band merchandise.
The event starts at 2pm and goes through into the evening. Entry is free and visitors can expect to either watch the competitive racing taking part, or have a go themselves from just £10. If karting isn’t your thing there will be ample opportunity to treat yourself as stalls selling pampering products and treatments (such as henna and glitter tattoos) plus jewellery, books and lots of other great stuff will be setting up all over the Midland Karting site.
There’ll also be great activities for kids, in addition to kid’s karting (from eight years up).
Once again Staffordshire businesses have risen to the challenge and many corporate teams will be taking part in endurance races on the International circuit. Kerrang Radio have donated 6 weeks free advertising on the Kerrang website – worth £4000 as a prize to the winners.
As we speak, Kerrang are also looking at putting a team of presenters together to take part.
Also to be announced is the name of the Kerrang presenter who will open the event for us.
As Kirsty Lee – Charities Manager for Kerrang Radio commented: ‘This is going to be a great event and we are really happy to be working with the lovely people at Midland Karting. We expect to raise a great amount for Cash for Kids, especially as Midland Karting is donating everything made direct to the charity. This really is a not to be missed event’.
Available on the day and throughout the evening is a fantastic selection of food and drink from our great range of food stalls and bar. There’s even Caribbean Guinness punch and ginger beer.
The evening concludes with a fireworks display at approximately 10.30pm.
As Garry Mitchell added: ‘We want to make this as much of a community effort as possible, and would still like to hear from any group who would like to be involved in one of the endurance races. We’re delighted to be working with Kerrang Radio, this is going to be a fantastic day.’
