Saturday 25th May – Sunday 2nd June

Try the Key Hole trail at the National Memorial Arboretum where the kids can test their detective skills and find the memorials on the sheet. Just £2 per sheet, from 9am – 5pm.

Sunday 26th May

Treat the kids to Andy & Mike’s Tick Tock Time Machine at the Lichfield Garrick for one performance only 2-5pm £38 for a family of four. Ring the box office now 01543 412121.

Monday 27th May

It’s Bank Holiday Monday in May it must be time for the Lichfield Bower, procession starts from Greenhill, Bower queen will be crowned outside the Guildhall at Midday then the procession continues to Beacon Park where the afternoon festivities begin.

There will be lots to keep the family entertained during the day, don’t forget to collect your Early Bird Discount wrist bands from The Spark Café Bar in Tamworth Street, Obsession Salon & Spa (this year’s main sponsor) and Ivison the Lichfield Florist in Bird Street for just a £1.

As an extra special treat Lal Bagh will be serving you a delicious take away lunch from outside their premises in Bird Street on the day. (Tell the team I sent you).

Play a rapid round of golf at Beacon Park from Monday 27th to Friday 31st £2.50 for just 9 holes for children £3.50/£4 for adults. Just visit the Rangers Station in the park. (Next to the Lakeside Café).

How about a trip to Go Bananas in Burtnwood the kids will love it & you can enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee why they simply Go Bananas!

Join the Blood Thirsty Lichfield Tour specially designed for children on Wednesday 29th May from 2pm at Lichfield Tourist Information Centre.

Remember when you used to go Pond Dipping when you were little? To celebrate National Family Week there will be family bug hunting & pond dipping led by the team at Beacon Park on Thursday May 30th and Sunday 2nd June 10am – 12noon. Booking is essential 01543 308869 just a £1 to hunt some bugs!

If your kids want to be the next Lewis Hamilton they will need to start practising at Midland Karting book your kids in for a practice session during half term. Ring 01543 409488, to book your place.

When was the last time you visited The Samuel Johnson Museum? It’s great fun for the kids, where they get the chance to dress up and experience ‘life’ in the 18th Century. On Thursday 30th May they will be able to combine it with some craft activities for just £2. Between 10.30am – 1.30pm no booking required.

Then on Sunday 2nd June why not finish off with The Big Lunch at Lichfield Cathedral. To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of the Queen’s Coronation on 2nd June 1953. Arrive at 12 noon to get your picnic spot and join in the celebrations.

To top off the week's activities why not pop along to The Plant Plot on the A51 Bypass to join in their Coronation Jubilee Garden Party.

There will be bouncy castles, face painting, birds of prey, pony rides, craft stalls plus much more. Moms and Dads can enjoy afternoon tea in the coffee shop from 2 -4.30pm. Entrance is FREE their chosen charity is Macmillan and Diana and her team will be making donations from the afternoon to this worthwhile cause.
