Your boiler is a complicated piece of machinery that is essential for heating your home but they are not cheap and prices tend to vary based on the brand, size and type.  Generally, they range from £500 to £2,500 depending on what you need.

E.C.A Plumbing and Heating are Gas Safe Registered heating engineers in Lichfield who offer some great advice to help you decide whether or not you need to replace your boiler:

  • When a qualified, honest engineer, like E.C.A tells you that it is beyond repair;
  • If your boiler no longer gives you control over your heating.  Having a new boiler can help you cut your heating bills.
  • If your boiler has a dry cycle – this is a feature on old boiler and is considered a real energy waster;
  • If your current boiler pilot light is continuously on.  This is common in old boilers and wastes gas.
  • If your boiler is situated on the floor not the wall – this is also likely to be an older boiler and a lot less energy efficient.
  • If your boiler is not very efficient e.g. G-rated.
  • If you are selling your house and want to increase the value of your property.

If you think you need a new boiler, don’t just rush out and buy one, seek some expert advice from a recommended heating engineer like E.C.A Plumbing and Heating.
