Spooky Halloween in Lichfield

This October take advantage of some great "spooky happenings" in Lichfield. I must say this year we are spoilt for choice so start preparing your costumes and get ready to be spooked!


The Lichfield Gruesome & Ghostly tours start from the 26th, 27th & 31st of October. Starting at 7pm. They boast that these tours will make your blood curdle and your spine tingle! All rounded off with a visit to one of our many local pubs for a glass of mulled wine . Booking is essential 01543 412112 www.visitlichfield.co.uk. Tickets are just £6.25.

Saturday 29th October you are in for a real treat with several spooky going's on! 

Why not catch the Halloween special from the Brownhills West Station at the Chasewater Railway? Where the junior team will entertain you with spooky tales, strange happenings and family fun. Trains leave from 5pm & 6.30pm for ticket information www.chasewaterrailway.org

Our friends at Erasmus Darwin House are offering you their customary apple bobbing, fancy dress, ghost trail & much much more. From 6pm until 8pm. Entrance fee is just £2 for more details www.erasmusdarwin.org.

If Halloween is not for you then why not visit Midland Karting at Fradley for their Children's Firework Charity event. They are running a charity event on October 29th in aid of Cash For Kids in association with Kerrang! Radio. The itinerary is to include Arrive & Drive on their updated National Circuit from around midday and Team Races throughout the day on their International Circuit.

The day will include live bands courtesy of Kerrang! Radio, there will be loads of different stalls to suit all tastes. Fun starts at 2pm through unitl 10pm. Contact Garry on 01543 409488 for more info.

For the adults among you, there is a Halloween Barn Dance in aid of Cancer Research UK at Boley Park Community Centre Rynkild Street Lichfield WS14 9XU. For tickets & more information contact 07790 837601. Featuring live band. Food and drinks included in ticket price. 

For the serious ghosthunters Fright Nights have unique access to the Guidhall including its most haunted areas and they have gained permission to the old prison cell block dating from 1533! 

During the event you will be taking part in a workshop, using ghost hunting equipment and undertaking vigils with their paranormal investigator and clairvoyant medium. Hot drinks and biscuits are also provided. 

You will be staying in one of the most haunted locations in Britain so they suggest that you take cameras, camcorders and other recording equipment, you may be lucky enough to capture something truly paranormal! The scary stuff starts at 7pm until 1am. Tickets are £50. For more information contact 0114 2513232.

Sunday 30th you can see some guarenteed creey crawlies with the Tropical Inc. Roadshow at the G-Scapes Garden Centre, expert Steve will explain all about these weird & wonderful creatures, you may even get to see a meerkat or two! Not so scary.

Then on the 31st Halloween itself why not join the fun in Beacon Park for the Halloween Haunt & Jaunt. From 5pm-7pm. There is a self guided spooky puzzle trail around the park. Solve the clues to claim a small prize. £1 entrance, under 3's are free. Contact 01543 308869 for more details.

Don't forget to pick up your pumpkins from the Packington Moor Farm Shop. They will be available from the beginning of the month. During half term week they will be running activities in the farm shop cafe everyday including mini monsters cafe menu. With lots of spooky cakes and pies on their fearsome cafe menu.
