The Lichfield Garrick has recently opened its latest festive treat for younger audiences. Home for Christmas, written by New Old Friends theatre company, follows the adventures of a mother, saddled with a giant Christmas tree and a to-do list longer than her arm, who is on a yuletide quest to make it home before the snow is due. Along the way, she meets a variety of amusing characters: the town Mayor's in a pickle, and there are clumsy sheep, lost birds and stranded farmers to help too. Can Mum still manage to get home in time?

The show stars Katie Haygarth who plays Mum. Katie trained at LAMDA has worked both in television and theatre including Mr Wroe's Virgins (BBC), Where The Heart Is (ITV), The Very Hungry Caterpillar (West End, UK Tour & Dubai), In The Night Garden Live (The O2 & UK Tour 2013 & 2015) and The Wizard Of Oz (National Theatre, Abu Dhabi). Katie will be joined by Emma Longthorne who trained at the East 15 Acting School and has worked on productions including The Comedy of Errors (Open Bar Theatre) Lily and the Little Snowbear (Blunderbus Theatre Company), and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (Manchester Actors Company). Emma plays the role of the farmer, sheep, lost ducks and the Mayor.

Home for Christmas is a gentle rhyming story that unfolds with wit, warmth and joy. It will captivate younger audiences and is a gorgeous festive treat for families. Suitable for 2 7 year olds, it’s the perfect first theatre experience for the little ones.

The production runs in the Lichfield Garrick’s Studio Theatre from Tuesday 12 December until Saturday 31 December 2017 with a variety of daytime performances.

Tickets are £11.50 & £38 (family), and are available from the Box Office on 01543 412121 or www.lichfieldgarrick.com
