Festive Waste Collections

This winter Lichfield District Council sent out new bin calendars to every home across the district. The calendars are an easy way to double check when to put your bins out. They also include information about festive bin collections.

There will not be any bin collections on Christmas Day and Boxing Day (Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 December 2012) and on New Year’s Day (Tuesday 1 January 2013). Some brown bin collections will also be suspended over the Christmas week.

Councillor Louise Flowith, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Operational Services, said: “So that our crews can enjoy the festive break, we will not be emptying any bins on Christmas and Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

If your bins are usually emptied on any of these days, please check your 2012/2013 bin calendar to find out when your replacement collections will be.” On top of news about Christmas collections, the council is also warning local residents that if it snows, or is particularly icy, some collections could be suspended.
