Lichfield Arts Present Emily Smith

Emily Smith is one of the leading singers of the contemporary Scottish folk scene. Her powerful, clear vocals have gained her award winning, worldwide recognition. As a songwriter Emily has been likened to 'a Scottish Joni Mitchell', but as a passionate collector she is equally adept at presenting fresh and evocative interpretations of traditional songs. As BBC Radio Two's Mike Harding says of Emily "As far as I'm concerned she can walk on water" and many people within the folk-world would agree.

Emily's most recent release TRAVELLER’S JOY features songs written on the road throughout 2010 beautifully blending alongside traditional material sourced from the travelling people of Scotland.

Lichfield Arts Director Chris Newcombe said: ‘Emily Smith is a class act with an international reputation and this concert is a great scoop for Lichfield Arts.'

The concert, on Friday November 25th starts at 8.30pm with tickets for the concert costing £12 full price, £11 for concessions, £10 for members and £6 for students. For further details and to book tickets, visit www.lichfieldarts.org.uk call (01543) 262223, or drop into the Lichfield Arts Box Office in Donegal House, Bore Street.
