Lichfield District Council’s Arts Development Officer, Celia Houghton, is leading a Big Draw event in Lichfield this October.

Taking place in the Three Spires Shopping Centre, on Saturday 22 October from 10am to 4pm, the free event will feature a variety of art activities throughout the day.

There will be a chance to draw with wire, use a custom-built drawing machine, and contribute to a section of possibly the world’s largest drawing.

Celia Houghton said: “Everyone is welcome to stop by and have a go at the drawing activities. They’re totally free, and will be great fun for all the family.”

Customers at Lichfield Garrick’s Green Room Bar & Café and Spark Café Bar on Tamworth Street can join in the creative day too. Diners will be able to choose from a menu of art, and then draw their menu choice on the special paper table cloths, if they sit at selected tables.

“I thought having a menu of drawing ideas in a café would be a good way to get people thinking about art. I hope it inspires them to get involved in Big Draw,” continued Celia.

Lichfield’s Big Draw event is led by Lichfield District Council and is sponsored by county councillors Alan White and Terry Finn, who contributed a combined total of £645 through Staffordshire County Council‘s Members’ Initiative Fund.
