Raining Men

Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 May 2012, at 7.30pm

The Lichfield Garrick is offering audiences the ultimate pick-me-up night out this May when comedy Raining Men comes to the theatre – hallelujah!

 

A new comedy by Hen Party Night writer Chris Ponka, Raining Men is the story of Phil the bouncer, Doug the DJ, and Colin the barman and a night where The Full Monty meets Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.  

It’s coming up to Halloween and the nightclub in which the trio all work has no act, so the boys decide to put on a little show of their own!

A great night out featuring the music of Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey and Judy Garland. 

 

But be warned this play is strictly for adults only with strong language and adult content from the start!

Raining Men will be at the Lichfield Garrick on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 May 2012, from 7.30pm.

Red Priest

Carnival of the Seasons is a colourful reinvention of a baroque masterpiece performed with Red Priest’s irrepressible blend of virtuosity, drama and humour.

 

For over a decade the musicians of Red Priest have been delighting audiences worldwide with their bold and original take on music of the baroque, making it completely accessible to every generation.

Playing from memory and creating a virtual orchestra from their four instruments, Red Priest’s dynamic presentation of programmes, with their legendary blend of creativity, wit, virtuosity, and astonishing energy, has given the group a unique position in the world of music.

 

A reviewer from The Daily Telegraph said: "Red Priest is like no other early music instrumental ensemble you have ever heard... bringing glee to the concert scene for a decade or more transforming Baroque clichés into vivid drama, often at terrific speed and with practised coordination....with a bedrock of tremendous skill and superb timing.”  

 

Red Priest will perform at the Lichfield Garrick on Saturday 19 May, from 7.30pm.

Country Roads

A Celebration of John Denver

The Lichfield Garrick celebrates the legendary John Denver this May when hit show Country Roads comes to the theatre. 

Country Roads will take audiences back on a magical journey evoking nostalgic memories of a time when the singer songwriter ruled the airwaves and dominated the US and UK charts. 

The show takes a look back through the musical career of John Denver - featuring popular hits Annie’s Song, Leaving On A Jet Plane, Rocky Mountain High and the biggest hit single and country anthem of the 70s - Take Me Home, Country Roads.

Starring Wayne Denton and a fabulous full live band, the show is dotted with anecdotes, humour and delivered with full screen video production to enhance this superb quality production.

Truly a feel good show, packed with great songs, laughter and great melody Country Roads is simply a fantastic and entertaining night out!

Country Roads will be at the Lichfield Garrick on Friday 18 May 2012, from 7.30pm.
