Back by popular demand, the Gruesome and Ghostly tours will be spooking tour-goers this autumn and winter.

Led by Green Badge tour guides, the walks take in the darkened house of Erasmus Darwin, the history of the Market Square burnings, the ghosts sighted at Dam Street, The Close and more.

Councillor Louise Flowith, Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Tourism, said: “As the nights draw in and there is a chill in the air, this is the perfect time to uncover the dark and mysterious side of Lichfield - if you dare! Don’t forget to wrap up warm and wear sensible shoes.”

After all the fresh evening air, the walks will be rounded off with a visit to a local pub for a glass of mulled wine and a sausage roll.

The tours set off at 7pm and are taking place on Wednesday 26 October, Thursday 27 October, Monday 7 November, Wednesday 9 November, Monday 14 November and Wednesday 7 December. The tour on Halloween (31 October) is already sold out.

Gruesome and Ghostly tours need to be booked in advance, and cost £6.25 a ticket. To book, please visit the Tourist Information Centre in the Lichfield Garrick or call the team on 01543 412112      .
