The former chairman was on hand at District Council House to present a cheque of £1,700 to a patron of the We Love Lichfield Fund, Simon Price.
Councillor Norma Bacon, Chairman of Lichfield District Council from May 2015 to May 2016, said: “I was so proud to be able to raise money for the We Love Lichfield Fund and would like to thank everyone who gave so generously. I really believe in this charity as it is such a good way to support the local community right across the district.”
Fundraising events included a festive flower arranging event and a civic Sunday lunch that featured a charity raffle.
Simon Price, Patron of the We Love Lichfield Fund, said: “We’re delighted to have received this donation and will add it to the pot of money that accrues interest which is then invested in community projects taking place in Lichfield District. On behalf of the Fund, I’d like to thank Norma for her support and for championing our fantastic local charity.”
