If you’re not going away this bank holiday weekend, Lichfield has lots of activities and events in store. 

Lichfield Food Festival 2015

Where: Lichfield City Centre
When: 29th and 30th August 

The Lichfield Food Festival offers over 100 food and drink stalls, cookery demonstrations by chefs and bakers, street food, a celebration of local brewers, a bake off, live entertainment and much more. There will be in store demonstrations over the weekend so make sure this weekend is in your diary!  Don't miss your chance to meet with TV Chef Mal Harradine at The Kitchen Shop where Mal will be demonstrating lots of fantastic kitchen gadgets during both days of the Food Festival between 10am - 4pm.
 

Tower Tours

Where: Lichfield Cathedral
When: 29th, 30th and 31st August

Take in the breath-taking views of Lichfield and beyond on these extended Tower Tours.
 

A Splash of Inspiration: Birthplace artists on display

Where: Samuel Johnson Museum
When: 29th, 30th and 31st August

Encounter striking paintings and unexpected techniques by Art Workshop students displayed around the historic building. FREE. 

 

Special Offer! – Court Savers

Where: Burntwood Leisure Centre
When: 29th, 30th and 31st August 

Courts include badminton, squash, tennis, table tennis, basketball and short tennis. Adults and children can play on our courts at the reduced price of £4 for adults and £3 for children. 

 

Footy For A Fiver

Where: Burntwood Leisure Centre
When: 29th, 30th and 31st August

Children can play football on our synthetic pitch at the reduced price of £5.  Offer applies before 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.  Booking can be made in advance or on the day. 

 

Open Weekend at G-Scapes

Where: G-Scapes, Fullbrook Nursery
When: 29th, 30th and 31st August

The wholesale nursery will be open to the public this weekend.  It's your opportunity to buy plants at competitive prices, find something unusual and chat to the experts on site. They will be selling a wide range of home-grown plants including trees, shrubs and specimen plants. They have an enviable range of herbaceous perennials with over 300 varieties guaranteed to give your garden all-round-colour and interest. 

 

Aquascramble Session

Where: Friary Grange Leisure Centre
When: Saturday 29th August, 2:00pm until 3:30pm

Aquascramble is suitable for all ages. Under8’s may not be allowed on the inflatable unless they are a competent swimmer.

 

‘Roellers’ Roller Skating Session

Where: Friary Grange Leisure Centre
When: Saturday 29th August, 4:15pm until 5:45pm 

Come and join in our ‘Roellers’ roller skating session. Bring your own skates or hire some for just £1. Parties and groups welcome.

 

St Giles Hospice Riverside Run 2015

Where: Burton Library
When: Sunday 30th August, 9:30am until 11:30am 

Join our Sunday morning 5k or 10k run  through the Trent Washlands and support your local hospice. Goody bag and medal for each runner.

 

Open Day/Family Fun Day

Where: Poolhouse Veterinary Hospital
When: Monday 31st August, 10:00am until 4:00pm 

Go along for a behind the scenes tour of the facility and enjoy a family day out as well!  There will be visits from the Rapture Rescue, the Hedgehog Rescue, Rabbits and guinea pigs. The retired greyhound society, cat’s protection, the pet’s blood bank and the Brook Organisation for horses and donkeys will also be in attendance.  There will be a bouncy castle, face painters, a hog roast and refreshments and more.

 

WW1 Discovery Day and Trench Tour at the Staffordshire Regiment Museum

Where: Whittington Barracks
When: Monday 31st August, 11:00am until 3:00pm

Why not come along to the WW1 Discovery Day at the Staffordshire Regiment Museum. The discovery day is a great way to find out what life was like for soldiers in the great war.
