"Songs for a City"

The service, in its third year, is a thank you for all that they do for Lichfield – a celebration and thanksgiving for everyone and everything that sustains the economic life of Lichfield.

‘Songs for a City’ will feature the Cathedral Choir and well-known carols for the congregation. The service will start at 5.30pm to enable city workers to enjoy the service with their colleagues, straight after their working day.

The Very Reverend Adrian Dorber, Dean of Lichfield said of the service:

“The Cathedral wants to say thank you to all who make Lichfield a special place to live and work in. I hope that every sector of the City’s economic, voluntary and public life will come and join in this special celebration. It is open house for all the voluntary workers, retailers, shop workers, office workers and businesses, professional practices and local agencies who sustain Lichfield in so many ways.

The service will include plenty of opportunity for people to sing well-loved carols, led by our Cathedral Choir. There will also be readings, prayers and a short message from me. I hope that employees and volunteers throughout the city will join us for this very special service.”

The service will be followed by mince pies and a non-alcoholic punch, served in the Cathedral. Refreshments have been kindly sponsored this year by Keelys Solicitors (of Dam Street, Lichfield).

Daniel Keane, Managing Partner of Keelys said of the event:

“Lichfield has a thriving business and professional life. Keelys are very pleased to be able to sponsor a major celebration of this during the Christmas season with friends and colleagues at Lichfield’s internationally recognised Cathedral”.
