Although we’ve been before it seemed fitting to go today on 11 /11 as we had the opportunity. With Covid we had to pre book but it was well organised and no queuing or overcrowding. We had no idea there was a Royal visit planned today for the memorial service.
The whole place is thoughtfully planned out and extremely moving.
There are acres to walk around with lots of memorials to visit to commemorate so many fallen hero’s and those who served in the distant past and more present day. A very humbling place and one to be enjoyed by young and old.
Facilities are good and inexpensive, the restaurant was closed due to the current lockdown but there’s an outside coffee shop for drinks and snacks.
The path ways are good and suitable for wheelchair access but Wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on the grass to be able to read some of the plaques and to walk down “The Beat” which is a wide aisle of trees commemorating police officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
Lest we forget!

Wonderful visit. Too large to go around in one day but simply wonderful. So many memorials and ones that you likely had never heard of. Absolutely marvellous, it is a must visit.

A very humbling experience we had today, lost for words on how beautiful the grounds are and beautiful memorials, great staff who have tremendous pride in helping visitors. This was our first visit and will be returning annually, also I’d like to add that there’s lots to keep children happy and entertained. (Please leave donations as museums and memorials need every penny they can get) Wonderful place, words cannot describe!

Went to the NM Arboretum mid-week, midday, just before the November 2020 lockdown. Not too busy and well organised car parking. The visitors centre was clean and well run.
The grounds are very interesting, particularly if you have a keen interest in the Armed Forces or a connection to them.
Would recommend the "train" around the grounds first (45 minutes approx) as you get a good idea of the layout and can then walk around at your leisure.
We spent about 3 hours there but could probably have done a little bit longer.
Good value.

Not a lot to say tbh an incredible place with great staff for some personal reflection and to remember them lost serving there county

The only down side is the restaurant is extremely expensive for what it’s producing and for a site cited buy veterans old and young this could be better

This place is amazing and well worth a visit. It is peaceful and tranquil and makes you appreciate the sacrifices of others. You have to book in advance online. Parking is just £4 and free entry. You need 2-3 hours really to explore everywhere.

There is a shop and cafe on site but the majority of the places to visit are outside so pick a dry day.

Booked for 6 of us for the day at 11am slot. Very organised at entrance. Booked the land train which at £6 was well worth the 50min journey, so informative. Then booked the 'easy' Treasure Hunt, which was ace. Took us to parts of the park we would not have gone to, a lot of walking but you can do it quicker if you plan ahead. Took us about 3 hours to complete, and we did it correctly! This Arboretum is a truly beautiful place. A must for everyone, very moving and reflective. Great cafe and shop. Very attentive staff. Very much enjoyed our day. Thankyou.

Wonderful day spent at the Arboretum and was glad we could still listen to the 11am service. Well organised, Covid restrictions well thought through and highlight this year was the 'Hold Still' digital exhibition.
