We spent a lovely day here. We arrived at 10:30 and went tot he chapel for the 2 minute silence and then had pre booked the train. The train is great as it gives you an idea of the scale and where to go. We then had a volunteer guide who took us around the site for an hour and a half. This was booked at reception. It was just the two of us and was very interesting. All the staff are great, very knowledgably and very friendly. After that we walked around ourselves with no real plan moving left and right forward and back depending on what we saw. We eat at the restaurant food was good and clean and spent some time in the shop. A really great day out a place to contemplate and remember

The best experience ever! There is so much to see. A land train takes you on a ride around part of the site, giving you a little bit of history. All the planted trees have a significance. Each tree has a dedication. You could easily spend a whole day here and not see everything. A must see when in the area!

I'm glad I paid it a visit, I did so as they were unveiling a memorial to my uncle and his comrades. It is too far away to go there again. I was glad the weather held out, as everything is laid out over a vast area and there are few places to shelter. It is very sobering seeing all the memorials. The cafe had reasonable food and drink, but the cafe tables were mostly taken up by people just sitting there out of the cold or eating their own lunches. The shop is small, but had many interesting items, not cheap though. There is a big car park, but you have to book it in advance and it costs £4. Entrance to the arboretum is free.

Having visited/seen many memorials across the country, this location felt clinical and had no emotional pull. Lovely grounds to walk around.
