Went to illumination. Excellent evening. Totally different from daytime experience obviously but well worth it.

Went there for the light show, amazing experience. Also managed to visit some memorials during daytime, the entry was free, the expositions - very beautiful and the history behind all memorials were touching, sometimes heartbreaking.

The Illuminations were amazing! The whole family had a wonderful time, it was fun and festive but gave subtle moments of reflection for the grown ups. Highly recommend.

This was my second visit..the first time I visited I felt moved by the atmosphere and emotion of the place..This time I came back with a friend who had never been before.. We had both served together in the same platoon, company and regiment... I was pleased it was raining.. it hid the tears... grown men do cry !!

We booked a bespoke whole day tour which included coffee and lunch. Paul Nicholson shared his extensive knowledge in a humorous, inspirational way. We started off with the Daily Act of Remembrance, which set the scene and explained the history of the development of the site. We were fascinated by the care and planning of every memorial that made it so fitting and unique eg appropriate trees for the focus of the service remembered such as olive trees for Greek memorial, maples for Canadian, khaki leafed trees for ATS etc. so much ‘meaning ‘ hidden within the memorials eg slope for submariners (resembling a submarine) , trees in straight lines for ships convoys and children’s hands awry on Evacuees indicating confusion; also 6 pine trees facing ‘shot at dawn’ victim, representing the positions where the firing squad stood to take aim. We covered a great deal in the time we had and will not forget the
wonderfully moving and thought provoking day! Thank you Paul N and your amazing team.

Attended during the day and it holds a dear place in my heart. With that being said i attended the Illuminations last night and i was left speechless, it was absolutely breathtaking. I actually got emotional at the sheer beauty you created in a natural environment.

What a lovely place both a memorial to our heroes and a growing arboretum. Lots of parking, a great cafe with a good selection of food and drink. Almost too big to do justice in a days visit. Toilets all around the arboretum. We will be back.

Wonderful and very emotive site, there are 400 statues/monuments - you could spend all day here. The restaurant is also to be recommended, we had a delicious homemade beef and Ale hotpot which was exceptional

It rained during our visit so we rode the train and listened to the narrative. Such an amazing, well designed sensitive place. Worthy of a visit by everyone, not just those who lost someone in a war. Will go back again.

A profoundly respectful & carefully crafted memorial to the fallen, it stands as a poignant reminder of the deep cost of conflict. A beautiful setting, evoking a somber atmosphere, yet remains imbued with a sense of hope.

The memorial honours service men & women killed since 1945 & names etched into its walls is particularly moving - 22 of whom I knew personally.

This is a must visit place, whether for education, reflection or pilgrimage.

Entrance is free but you'll need to pay to park.
