Diwali Lights @ Hamilton Library
- Go along and decorate a glass container using beads and wire and create your own unique light for Diwali.

Diwali Film Night:  Bobby at New Walk Museum & Art Gallery - A viewing of classic Bollywood film, Bobby. 

Diwali Dinner and Dance at Peepul Enterprise – go along and enjoy dinner and a dance as you celebrate Diwali

Nine Lives @ Upstairs at the Western Pub Theatre – for ages 14 years plus. 

Ghost Hunt at Leicester's former Mental Asylum – Towers Hospital - Join Haunted Evenings as they explore this incredibly vast and now abandoned mental asylum to discover the lost souls that still wander the corridors and wards.  

The Golden Mile Festival - The stores will be brimming with new and exciting products, and food will be even tastier as grocery stores and restaurants showcase new varieties and different spices to create a fiesta fit for maharajas.  

Lights in the Window - A montage of Diwali images will be projected on the windows of 50 New Walk  

Rangoli at New Walk Museum & Art Gallery - Visitors and community groups are welcome to add splashes of colour to create a beautiful display in our new India’s Gateway exhibition.  

 

Saturday 7th November


Abbey Park Bonfire & Firework Display
- Be dazzled by Leicester’s biggest bonfire and firework display. 

Diwali Extravaganza at Peepul Enterprise - lots of activities for all the family 

Diwali Railway Day at Abbey Pumping Station – wrap up warm and travel on the Diwali Express around the museum’s site railway.  

Diwali stories @ Rushey Mead Library - storytelling, puppets and crafts. 

An Indian Summer Diwali Parade - The Festival of Light will be brought to life by characters from the epic legend - find Hanuman (a flying God), Ravana (The Demon King of Lanka) and a Light Glowing Deity roam the streets of Leicester with live music.  

Diwali Celebration @ Hamilton Library - Enjoy Diwali card making, terracotta diya holder painting, rangoli, Diwali snack tasting, dance acts and more. 

Diwali stories @ Belgrave Library - storytelling, puppets and crafts. 

Festival of Fireworks 2015 - an incredibly exciting evening packed full of fireworks, with a funfair, a huge bonfire and firework displays. 

SANCTUM @ Upstairs at The Western - This event is part of the Platforma Festival (ages 14 years plus.

Diwali: Centre for Indian Classical Dance: Karman Exhibition - a visual arts and dance heritage exhibition which draws on the archive of the Centre for Indian classical Dance (CICD) in Leicester.
