Leicester Oktoberfest
- This year, Leicester Oktoberfest has gone especially Oktoberfest-mad. The biggest event, with a 2,500 people tent, starts off with a hop-soaked 5 days in Abbey Park. 4pm to 11pm.
 

Sweet Charity - Sweet Charity is a tender and comical look at the adventures and misadventures in the ways of love, encountered by the gullible and guileless Charity Hope Valentine, who always gives her heart and her dreams to the wrong man. 2:30pm until 4:00pm and 7:30pm until 10:00pm 


Saturday 22nd August 2015 


What will you discover at Dig It..?
2pm to 4pm at King Richard III: Dynasty, Death and Discovery - Children can learn the basics of archaeology and uncover hidden artefacts in our mini archaeology dig pits.

Leicester City Festival - Celebrating Leicester in the heart of the city. Featuring some well-established favourites like Leicester Belgrave Mela and Sky Ride, Old Town Festival, and children’s activities in Orton Square. Taking place over ten fun-packed days.

Dynasty, Death and Discovery…in Sand - World champion sculptor and BBC’s Deadly Art presenter Nicola Wood brings sand sculpture to Old Town Venues Leicester like you’ve never seen it before. 22nd to 31st August. 

City Festival: Leicester Castle Tells its Story at Leicester Castle, 11am to 3pm. Bring your tablets and smartphones to listen to the voices of those who worked at the Castle courtrooms, immerse yourself in the story of the Green Bicycle murder, complete the interactive family trail and explore centuries of Castle history and architecture.

City Festival: Anthony King: The Magna Carta Show, 1:00am until 4:00pm. Join comedian and songwriter Anthony for a light-hearted slant at the Magna Carta.

Old Town Festival Family Day at Jubilee Square & Cathedral Gardens 11am to 5pm. Featuring medieval characters and a tented village with arts and crafts, battle and armour demonstrations. Plus Richard III inspired activities, puppet show, circus skills and lots of themed attractions for all the family

National Army Museum: Commonwealth and Empire Exhibition: 11:00am until 5:00pm. Visit the National Army Museum’s Commonwealth and Empire touring exhibition and explore images, stories and family-friendly activities at Leicester Old Town Festival. 

City Festival: Open House Circus. All the thrills of live circus performances with the chance for everyone to have a go at performing with top professionals. 11:00am until 12:45pm and 2:45pm until 3:30pm.

City Festival: Open House Circus. All the thrills of live circus performances with the chance for everyone to have a go at performing with top professionals. 11:00am until 12:45pm and 2:45pm until 3:30pm 

City Festival: Sports Fest at Gallowtree Gate, 11am to 5pm. Go along and have a go at sports you’ve never tried before with qualified coaches on hand to offer advice, plus a range of health marquees providing information about general health and wellbeing.
