The UK Secretary of State for Business to be “speaker” at Inaugural Liberal Democrats East Midlands Business Dinner At Bentley In Leicestershire

Secretary of State for Business, Industry and Skills, The Rt. Hon Dr Vincent Cable MP along with other senior members of the liberal democrat party will be attending as guest of honour and speaker for the Inaugural Liberal Democrat East Midlands Business Dinner.

Dr. Vince Cable has indicated he will be keen to address head on some of the key economic problems we face and how politicians and business people can deal with these vital issues. Since entering Government last year the Liberal democrats aims have been to successfully implement many manifesto commitments dedicated to creating a fairer, more diverse, and growing economy, including cutting taxes for low and middle-income earners, establishing the Regional Growth Fund and introducing the Green Investment Bank.

As you will be aware the coalition government has also recently created ‘enterprise zones’, as well as reducing the main rate of corporation tax, and state they are looking to reduce inefficient regulation on businesses. In addition, the Independent Office of Budget Responsibility has indicated that the Coalition Government is on track to eliminating Britain’s structural deficit. They feel they have had to make very difficult decisions but are sure they will be the right ones.

This outstanding event will be hosted in the wonderful and symbolic surroundings of Bentley Leicestershire. Bentley has long been synonymous with British innovation, manufacturing and design and while times have changed, it is said that Dr Cable has been working tirelessly in government to ensure that British industries compete globally to the benefit of their local communities.

The evening will provide guests with an open forum in which to discuss key issues and for a critical insight into the aims of the Coalition and how Lib Dem policies are at the very heart of government. There are several ways for you and your organisation to get involved:
