This year’s Leicester Marathon is taking place on Sunday 11th October. The event begins on Victoria Park with the first athletes starting at 09.20 and following last years’ successful route. Preparations for this event will begin on Saturday 10th on the Victoria Park site with parking restrictions in the area from 18.00. Road closures will be implemented from 09.00 on Sunday 11th. The organisers have worked hard to ensure minimal impact on local residents and businesses and hope that the goodwill shown towards last year’s event will continue.
This year the Marathon is raising money for LOROS, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People and St John Ambulance along with showcasing what Leicester has to offer to the sporting community with an eye fixed firmly on 2012.
