If you're stuck for something to do in May or during the half term break, why not check out some of the major festivals and events that are taking place ....

Leicester's Big 10k 

Do you enjoy running or would you like to do something for Charity?  Then why not take part in Leicester's Big 10K.  Taking place on 17th May 2015, this flat, traffic-free course runs inside and outside Abbey Park in Leicester.  The race is in aid of Rainbows Children’s Hospice and entries close on 14th May at 5pm.

The Spark Festival

This fabulous Children’s Arts Festival takes place from 18th May to 30th May and presents the very best in theatre, dance, music, visual arts and digital media events for young people aged 0 - 13 years.  From family days and theatre productions to music, puppetry and contemporary dance, events take place in various venues throughout the area including schools, theatres and community venues.  If you’re looking for something to do during May half term, you’re sure to find a great activity at The Spark Festival.

Leicester Summer Food & Drink Festival

Taking place on 24th May 2015, the popular Summer Food and Drink Festival takes place from 11am to 5pm at Leicester Market where Celebrity Chef Reza Mahammad will be cooking up some fabulous dishes for market shoppers to sample.

With over 150 stalls to browse, you will have the opportunity to taste a range of hot food and global cuisine. 

A good selection of local food and drink will also be on display including award-winning Melton Mowbray Pork Pies, hand-crafted cakes, hearty chutneys and delicious jams.

A licensed Drinks Zone will also be open for you to sit back and relax over a beer, wine, cocktail or spirit.
