The Leicester Business Festival (LBF) is sponsored by The Leicester Castle Business School, De Montfort University.

Local people and the business community will know well how diverse is the City and environs of Leicester. Plus, Leicester can draw on a historical heritage that goes back to Roman times. The City has long been a centre of commerce with National importance.

In addition, in 2015 it was decided that Leicester should be proudly proclaiming itself as a Commercial Business dynamo with a huge potential not just on our own doorstep but Nationally and Internationally. The inaugural Leicester Business Festival (LBF) in 2015 did just that. Its enormous success has ensured that the event will be back in 2016 from 24 October to 4 November. LBF was instigated by the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP), a business-led partnership between the public and private sector looking to drive economic growth across the region.

In 2015 LBF featured 80 events over two weeks, 25 of which were sold out, making it a major success. With 85% of the events completely free, the festival was open to everyone from top CEOs to budding entrepreneurs. Nearly 7,000 people took part in the LBF and the 2016 festival is set to be bigger and better with a greater impact on and involvement by local business people who have seen the enormous benefits brought about by selling Leicester business across the entire National and International scene.

The County of Leicestershire itself is an incredibly diverse business environment with links across this country and beyond. There is an enviable balance between diverse sectors making it the largest economy in the East Midlands, worth £19.4bn a year and is host to 33,000 businesses and 435,000 employees and very many more visitors.

With a population of almost 1 million spread across the major City of Leicester, densely-populated towns and a charismatic rural hinterland, excellent transport links make Leicestershire one of the best integrated areas in the UK.

Supporting LBF by attending the festival is to extend support to the people who are working at driving up enterprise in the City and County from which even the smallest business can draw benefit. In addition, new entrepreneurs wishing to begin their business journey should take time to visit the festival and seek out those who have already made the transition, the business opportunities for all local people who wish to grasp them are profoundly impressive. Literally, for Leicester business people the World is their oyster and where better than LBF to begin seizing the opportunity.

Locally The Best of Leicester is working with people who have created business opportunities for themselves, many of them will be at LBF savouring its many diverse ideas and themes.

The Best of Leicester will be in attendance and we look forward to speaking with existing members and prospective members who understand the need for proactive marketing and business growth. See you there.
