Shoppers across the East Midlands have been warned of spooktacular sorcery planned at GAME and Gamestation stores on Saturday 31 October.  With cauldron collections, devilish dress-ups and unlucky dips, staff will be raising money for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People as part of GAME Group’s charity partnership with Children’s Hospices UK.

It’s not just about dressing up though.  By buying games from the range of Nintendo DS and Wii products featured in the special “buy one get one free” promotion in GAME stores; £1 from each sale will be donated to children’s hospices across the UK.  Games in the promotion include Batman and Indiana Jones for Nintendo Wii and High School Musical 3 for Nintendo DS.

Kate Golding, Corporate Fundraiser at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People said, “We are extremely grateful to everyone at GAME and Gamestation who will be helping to raise funds for Rainbows with this fun and exciting Halloween weekend.  The money raised will help us to continue to support life-limited children and their families throughout the community.”

All of the GAME and Gamestation stores will be fundraising over the next two years for the UK’s network of 41 children’s hospice services.  The staff in each store will be supporting their local children’s hospice which provides care and support to children and young people who are not expected to reach adulthood and their families.  The money raised will help fund teenage activity weekends at children’s hospices across the country.

Terrence Taylor, Regional Manager at Gamestation said: “With everyone getting into the Halloween mood this month we wanted to get into the spooky spirit and raise money for such an important cause at the same time!  I hope everyone gets involved to help support our local children’s hospice.”

John Low, Regional Manager for GAME said: “The Halloween fundraising weekend will kick off our two year charity of the year partnership with Children’s Hospices UK.  I’m sure our colleagues and customers will give generously to help us raise vital funds for Rainbows in our local area, as well as having a bit of fun at the same time!”
