"The Police are currently investigating 2 incidents of Burglary that occurred between Friday 24th April and Sunday 26th April 2009 in the area of Oadby.
As part of the investigation it has been revealed that there was a series of cold calling incidents in the area involving two males purporting to be collecting money on behalf of blind children. Police are advising occupiers to be on their guard when answering the door to "cold callers", making sure that their rear door is secure.
If you do receive a visit from any such persons or cold callers, and are dubious about the persons authenticity police would request that you take a note of their description plus vehicle if applicable and notify Leicestershire Police on 0116 2222222.
