Medieval Joust at Rockingham Castle

We are thrilled to announce the return of the Knights of Nottingham and the Medieval Sokemen to Rockingham Castle this summer! Join us on Sunday 21st June for another epic joust and living history experience!
Prepare for action packed day at Rockingham Castle as the Knights of Nottingham and their trusty steeds thunder across the Tilting Lawn once again. Witness sword-swinging action as the brave knights give a momentous display of skill and courage as they battle for victory in front of King Edward IV!
The year is 1470 and Edward IV and his entourage are encamped at Rockingham Castle. Experience the sights, sounds, and smells of medieval life. The king’s surgeon and apothecary will be on hand to discuss ailments, injuries, and remedies. Discover how the armour and weaponry used in the joust were made and used – try it on for size! Take in a medieval fashion show, watch a terrifying ladder of swords display, and take the time to listen to our story-teller’s fascinating medieval tales!

The Castle closes at 3pm so make sure to visit here before the joust if you have purchased a House, Gardens and event ticket.
