Has your VW Touareg or Porsche Cayenne started making really loud banging noises from below the armrest?

Mine did and it can be a bit worrying as it is so loud, I didn't know what it was but it turns out to be the centre propshaft bearing!

My VW Toaureg started to make very loud banging noises from below the transmission tunnel and I had to drive very slowly to prevent it!

There is someone near Kettering that can fix it!

I started to do some research on repairs and it turns out to be a common problem that occurs between 50,000 and 70,000 miles and if you go to a main dealer they will want you to have a new propshaft which fitted is around £1000!!!

There are several places that will do a repair for you or fit a new bearing and send the propshaft back to you. I contacted Richards German Car Specialists near Kettering in Northamptonshare and they knew how to fix it.
They do a complete repair, new bearing and refitted for £299! That's a lot better than the main dealer price.

They know what they are doing and are very helpful, I would recommend them if you experience this loud banging from your VW Touareg or Porsche Cayenne form under the centre armrest area, it sounds scary but it is repairable by these nice people.
