The cycle hire scheme will be introduced across centre London with 6,000 cycles available for hire from around 400 docking stations in a move that Transfort For London anticipates will generate an additional 40,000 cycle journeys every day in Central London. There are expected to be 54 docking stations within Kensington and Chelsea, with the idea being that each station whould be within about 300 metres of the next. Planning applications will soon be submitted to the Council for the docking stations that will be central to the Mayor of London's cycle hire scheme.
